products have an unrivalled ruputation for quality; the exhaust systems that we produce
for the Cosworth range are yet another example of this policy. Throughout the years, we
have had the opportunity to inspect a number of different styles of exhaust system fitted
to cars that we have had through our workshops. With our own design of system, we have
endeavoured to avoid the mistakes made by other manufacturers. Our own 3" bore
systems are desgned to fit closely to the underside of the vehicle, (to give maximun
ground clearance), without actually fouling the chassis or suspension components, (which
would lead to annoying vibrations, and eventually, damage to the exhaust or car). Our
systems are manufactured completely of stainless steel, including the T.I.G. welded
joints, (some systems are joined using corrosive mild steel!). The silencer cladding mateial is
indestructible stainless steel wool, not glass fibre wadding (which can eventually compact
into a solid mass, which will offer no sound deadening properties).
The silencers used in our systems
are also 3" bore, offering no additional restriction the exhaust gasses, (some
3" bore systems actually use 21/2"bore silencers!). The exhausts are also
constructred using mandrel bent sections with the minimum of joints possible, (welded
joints are sometimes required if bends need to be closer together than the machinery will
allow).
As a finishing touch, our systems
for the Sierra and Sapphire Coswort models feature a polished 31/2" diameter muffled
tailpipe to remove the harshness from the exhaust note that large diameter tailpipes
produce.
Our Escort Cosworth systems
terminate with an oval polished & rolled edge tailpipe that fits clearly through the
original opening in the rear bumper. For the later Cosworth models, (Sapphire 4x4 and
Escort Cosworth), we can also offer an exhaust system complete with a non-restrictive
sposrts catalytic converter.
This will ensure that the exaust
emissions remain within current DOT exhaust emission test requirements, without any loss
in performance.
The fitting of a GGR stainless
steel exhaust system to your Cosworth will enhaunce the vehicle in many ways.
The performance will be enhanced
due to the less restrictive nature of our system. The visual impact of the car will be
enhanced due to the quality of manufacture and high standard of fit of the system. The
releability of the car will be enhanced, as our totally stainless steel systems will never
corrode.
The sound of the car will also be
enhanced, our systems emit a deeper mellow exhaust note, marking the car sound lika a
Cosworth, without becoming overly noisy within the vehicle. |
